In Their Own Words

Our teachers chose Sherborne Jeddah for its clear educational vision rooted in purpose - a genuine belief in teachers as trusted professionals and a commitment to balancing academic excellence with care for the whole child.

As a founding school, we offer something rare: the opportunity to shape culture from Day 1, where relationships, curiosity, and character matter as much as results. Here, teachers feel valued as integral partners in building something special - a community where educational purpose and professional trust sit at the centre, where children learn best because they feel secure and happy, and where every voice contributes to our shared journey.

In their own words, our teachers share what brought them to Sherborne School Jeddah and the moments that remind them why they're here.

I was drawn to Sherborne Jeddah because it truly balances strong academic standards with genuine care for the whole child. Being a brand-new school, creates the opportunity to establish a school culture and from my very first conversations, it was clear that relationships, curiosity and character are valued for every pupil. This aligns with my philosophy that children learn best when they are happy and feel secure.

What really drew me to Sherborne School Jeddah was the exciting opportunity to be part of the founding team of teachers at the very beginning of the school's journey. Being alongside the founding families, helping to shape the culture from Day 1, felt incredibly special. I am also strongly aligned with the school's ethos and values, particularly the holistic approach to education where a child's social, emotional, and academic development are of equal and high importance.

What drew me to teach at this school was the clear educational vision and values that underpin it. Having worked in international schools for the past six years and completed a Master’s in International Education, I have seen the rapid growth of international education and the varying motivations that can sit behind it. Through this experience, I have become increasingly motivated to work in a school where educational purpose and professional trust are at the centre.

Following my conversations with Mr. Paget during the interview process, it was clear that this school was being built with a genuine belief in teachers as professionals. I felt trusted, valued, and seen as an integral part of the school’s development rather than simply a member of staff. This sense of shared purpose and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the school made this role particularly exciting.
