Key Stage 3 at Sherborne School Jeddah spans Years 7 to 9, offering pupils aged eleven to fourteen a curriculum that is ambitious, carefully structured and designed to prepare them thoroughly for the demands of examination years. Across every subject, pupils build genuine understanding, develop as thinkers and communicators, and grow in the confidence and resilience that define a Sherborne education.

From core academics to creative arts and digital innovation, our Key Stage 3 curriculum develops the whole pupil across every dimension.

In English, pupils become more confident readers, analytical thinkers and persuasive writers, developing the communication skills that matter in every area of life. In Mathematics, they build a connected understanding of algebra, geometry and number, learning to approach complex problems with clarity and method. In Science, pupils think and work like scientists, exploring cells, forces, chemical reactions and living systems through genuine enquiry and investigation.

Humanities takes pupils beyond the classroom and into the real world, tackling urgent and relevant topics including globalisation, natural resources, ecosystems, climate change, natural hazards and urbanisation. Pupils do not just learn about the world as it is, they develop the critical thinking skills to question it, evaluate evidence and form their own informed views. Arabic deepens both language skills and cultural identity, growing in complexity and ambition across all three years.

Computer Science equips pupils with skills that are directly relevant to the world they are growing up in, from Python coding, cybersecurity and data science to robotics, web design and digital innovation. Drama, Music and Creative Arts develop confidence, creativity and original thinking. PE and Games build fitness, teamwork and resilience. Together, these subjects ensure that pupils leave Year 9 academically strong, digitally capable and genuinely prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
