Where every day is a discovery

For our youngest pupils, the school day is built around curiosity and play. Children arrive into a carefully designed environment of possibilities: creative corners, story books, building spaces and activities that invite exploration at every turn. Learning in the Early Years is child-centred and hands-on, with structured play, dedicated Phonics sessions and specialist lessons in PE, Music and Art woven through every day. Daily Arabic sessions celebrate Saudi heritage from the very start, while afternoon Continuous Provision and co-curricular activities bring each day to a warm and satisfying close. No two days are quite the same here at Sherborne School Jeddah.

Key Stage 1 | Years 1 & 2 | Ages 5–7

Building Foundations That Last A Lifetime

Key Stage 1 pupils begin every morning with English and Maths, two subjects that sit at the heart of the KS1 curriculum and receive dedicated time every single day. The consistency of this morning routine gives young learners the security and repetition they need to build real confidence in literacy and numeracy.

After break, the day opens up into Arabic and a rich rotation of specialist subjects including Science, Performing Arts, PE, Computer Science, Art and Humanities. On Thursdays, Islamic Studies takes the place of Arabic. Each day ends with co-curricular activities, giving every child the chance to discover something that truly sparks their interest.

Key Stage 2 | Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 | Ages 7–12

Growing confidence, growing every day

Walking through the school gates, a KS2 pupil knows that today will be interesting. The morning opens with English and Arabic, both taught by specialist teachers who bring energy and warmth to every lesson. After break, Maths follows, then a specialist subject from a broad and varied weekly rotation that includes Science, Computer Science, Humanities, Art, Music, PE and Performing Arts.

Lunch is a lively 45 minutes of food, friendship and fresh air. The afternoon brings two further specialist lessons before the day rounds off with co-curricular activities. On Tuesday, the whole school gathers for Assembly, a moment that genuinely feels, as one pupil put it, like one big family. By home time, pupils have had a full, rich and purposeful day.

Key Stage 3 | Year 7 | Ages 11–13

Preparing For The World Ahead

Year 7 marks a real step forward. The school day opens with Maths followed by English, a deliberate progression to the rigour and independence that senior school education demands. Two specialist lessons follow after break, covering a wide and ambitious range of subjects. Arabic takes its place as a standalone afternoon session every day, giving focused and uninterrupted language learning.

On Tuesdays, an Innovation session challenges pupils to think creatively and solve real-world problems, complemented by PSHE. Co-curricular activities close out each day, giving Year 7 pupils the space to develop leadership, pursue their passions and arrive home knowing they have grown a little bit more.
