Key Stage 2

Four years that make a remarkable difference.

Key Stage 2 covers Years 3 to 6, welcoming pupils aged seven to eleven into a curriculum that builds steadily in depth and ambition with every year. Subject knowledge becomes richer, thinking becomes more independent, and every child is challenged and supported in equal measure to reach their full potential.

Key Learning Areas —

A curriculum spanning literacy, science, the arts, language and sport.

In English, pupils develop from competent writers and readers in Year 3 into articulate, analytical communicators by Year 6, taking part in debates, presentations and performances alongside increasingly ambitious written work. In Mathematics, they progress through fractions, decimals, percentages, algebra, ratio and problem solving, building a secure and connected understanding of number across all four years.

Science covers a wide and engaging range of topics including light, forces, electricity, materials, classification and the human body, giving pupils a genuine understanding of the world around them and how it works. Humanities takes them further still, from the continents and ancient civilisations such as Egypt and China, to the Golden Age of Islam, climate zones, natural hazards and global sustainability.

Arabic, Creative Arts, Drama, Music, Computer Science, PE and Games run throughout all four years, ensuring pupils develop as confident, creative and physically active learners alongside their core academic studies.
